14 years ago, if you’d been walking by a skate park and seen a 16-year-old boy struggling to learn a new trick on his skateboard, you might not have noticed the DSLR camera he had sticking out of his backpack.

That was my first camera, given to me by a friend who taught me to love photography so much that I decided to make it my full-time job. I’ve spent a lot of years traveling and living all over the country, working to build my portfolio and photograph authentic moments.  Now, I’m finally settled back in lovely Columbus, OH and my camera and I are ready to capture the lifestyle shots your brand is looking for.

My Experience

The great thing about being a photographer is that the work speaks for itself.  I love sharing my portfolio and take pride in capturing real moments with the people and products I’m photographing. If you look through my samples, you’ll see some of the big names I’ve worked with - companies like

  • Bed, Bath, and Beyond

  • Lane Bryant

  • Chewy

  • Joann Fabrics

You might also recognize some of the celebrities and athletes who have been models for me. But what I really hope you see is the authentic moment caught in each picture. Regardless of the brands, I want to capture the real essence of the subject, whether it’s a person, food, or product.

What I Do

As a commercial lifestyle photographer in Columbus, Ohio, it’s my job to help clients bring out the genuine feelings and experiences that their products give to people. Of course, that means that I need to know how to get the lighting right, how to set up the camera and other equipment and make sure the staging looks nice. But that’s just the beginning.  The real magic happens in finding that perfect moment of authenticity that really captures what your product is all about. It’s being able to do that makes a great lifestyle photographer.

I take my job very seriously. That’s why, when you walk on my set, you’ll hear lots of laughter, music, and fun!  I want to photograph a real moment. That can’t happen when everyone is stiff and worried about what they look like, or if the angles are perfect. Authenticity comes from letting your guard down and experiencing the moment.  I do my best to create an atmosphere where everyone can relax and be themselves.  Then the product can really shine and I can capture its essence for you to share in your publishing.

Location, Location, Location

As you look through my portfolio, one of the things you might notice is how versatile I can be. You’ll see outdoor landscapes, families playing at home, and sleek studio shots.  While most photographers focus on either photographing on location in real environments or on getting the perfect studio setup, I love to do both. That may not sound like a big deal at first, but if you understand how different it is to get the lighting and equipment right on location versus a studio, you’ll understand why most photographers specialize in just one. I take a lot of pride in being able to give you the perfect shots in whatever environment is best for your commercial needs.

Let’s Talk

If you’re a brand or an agency that’s looking for a lifestyle photographer to capture the essence of your product, I’d love to talk to you. One of the things I’ve learned in my years in this business is that sharing a vision is the key to making great art - and commercial lifestyle photography is an art.  I’m happy to talk with you and see where that vision takes us for your brand and product.
